Rolling Stone named Wayne Best MC in their new Best of Rock 2008 Issue. Big surprise there.
Wayne works quickly — he writes nothing down, records rhymes as soon as they pop into his head, and completes up to five songs a day. He can also knock out a verse for someone else within a half-hour of hearing the beat. That has served him well financially: Wayne charges $100,000 for the average cameo — or $75,000 if he likes the beat or the song. “But nothing less!” Wayne says. “I wouldn’t do a song for my sister for less than $75,000.”

19 Entertainment/Jive Records recording artist, Jordin Sparks is riding a wave of success with her latest Top 10 staple, “No Air,” a duet with her label-mate Chris Brown, jumping from the No.7 position to No.2 on the Pop Singles Chart this week. The song has remained in the Top 10 for over one month on the heels of her previous No.1 hit, “Tattoo.”
Most recently, Sparks and Brown performed the duet on a segment of American Idol. Sparks was surprised during the broadcast when a few of her fans along with Ryan Seacrest presented the 2007 American Idol winner with plaques commemorating her gold-certified album, Jordin Sparks; and two platinum single plaques marking digital single sales exceeding one million each for “No Air” and “Tattoo.”
The 18-year old star is set to open up for the highly anticipated Alicia Keys “As I Am” domestic tour, which kicks off on April 19th in Hampton, VA.

Apparently, fans of R&B star Usher Raymond are frothing at the mouth in anticipation of the singer’s next album. More commonly known as simply “Usher,” the superstar will be releasing his next studio album next month instead of the scheduled June 2008 date.
Record execs at the Grammy Winner’s label Zomba are hoping to capitalize on the hit status of the collabo with Young Jeezy, “Love In This Club” to bolster record sales.
According to a press release from the Jive subsidiary label, the move was initiated to “satiate” Usher’s fans. The album is reportedly titled Here I Stand and is the new father’s first release since 2004’s mega hit Confessions.
